The Franklin Point overlook, in San Mateo County, California, is a beautiful location for many of our Sempervirens117 team training sessions. But it can get cold and windy – even in the summer months. Having the right equipment sourced from companies with a strong environmental record and dependable reputation for making things that last and are healthy is very – very – important to us.

Backpack

Water Bottle

Food

The best choices are the simplest ones. Fresh fruits, organic avocados, dried nuts, or other simple snacks can be purchased from a local Bay Area farmer’s market, for example: here or here.

Trail mix – Try to select organic varieties only, especially those that also are listed as having raw, vegan, and unsulfured ingredients.

ALOHA protein bars – These are organic, plant-based, paleo, and low sugar. And they can be ordered in bulk directly from the manufacturer, or from Amazon.

Patagonia – pants, fleece outer layer, soft shell – excellent sustainable mission, synthetic fiber recycling program, environmental activism

Icebreaker – base layers – made of New Zealand merino wool, natural fibers are easily recyclable.
